Hovering Bookcase

The appeal of these shelves (and the formidable challenge in constructing them) is how their significant mass seems to hover on the wall. Also, a pleasing detail is the way the edge on the top two shelves copy the angle of the wall opening.

Grandfather Custom Design

This grandfather clock case was designed and constructed to accomodate an antique Irish clock piece. It is an all cherry case with curly cherry panels. The moldings and finial are custom designed and made. The side glass panels are removable for any future adjustments to the clock.

From Log to Spoon

A customer brought me a log from a crabapple tree they had cut down on their property. They wanted some special items made from it to remember the tree. After a period of air drying the wood I set to work making a number of utensils. I let the feel of the hand guide the development of the form. The colors and markings in the wood really made for some wonderful pieces.

Mission Inspired Custom Cherry Set

This custom built set of two end tables and a coffee  table was designed using Mission style elements. Strong geometry, elegant arches and eye catching pattern combine beautifully with the warm rich tone of the cherry wood. Details such as the bevel cut edging and the handcut dovetail joinery in the end table drawers reveal the craftsmanship devoted to these pieces.

New at Market

Adding some color to my line of goods this year are these stained white ash finger jointed recipe boxes.

My contribution to a recent bathroom renovation. A radiator cover/bookcase and a custom built medicine cabinet.
